Welcome!The Peninsula Silent Flyers (PSF) is an Academy of Model Aeronautics (AMA) sanctioned club located in Torrance, California dedicated to the enjoyment of building and flying radio control sailplanes and electric powered aircraft and helicopters. The club was established in 1985 and now has over sixty members. New members are encouraged and always welcome. Training aircraft and transmitters are available to teach novice flyers.The Peninsula Silent Flyers members have access to flying sites located in the cities of Rancho Palos Verdes (RPV) and Torrance for electric airplanes and gliders. The flying of radio control models at our RPV site is allowed only by members with a current full AMA membership and a RPV permit (obtained through the club). We conduct meetings the first Wednesday of each month, 7:30pm, at La Romeria Park in Torrance. Discussion topics usually include club business, news from the officers, show-and-tell from the membership, technical or "how to" information and - best of all - a raffle for cool prizes! |
